Back-to-school season is a great time for everyone—whether you're in school or not—to embrace new beginnings.
Hey Healthi fam, Coach Brianna here! Back-to-school season has always been one of my favorite times of the year. Even though I don’t have children and am not directly impacted by the school calendar, I still feel a powerful sense of a “fresh start” during this period. As summer winds down and we transition into a more focused, “get it done” mindset, it’s a great time for everyone—whether you're in school or not—to embrace new beginnings. Here are a few ways I use the back-to-school season to advance my Healthi journey:
This time of year feels ideal for resetting and refocusing. With four months left before the new year begins, it’s the perfect opportunity to work on shorter-term goals. Maybe you want to run a 5K this fall or start strength training to build a solid routine by the holidays. Personally, I’m concentrating on a set of habit-based goals this season, and I’m excited about the progress I’ll make by the end of the year. Taking the time to refresh your goals will leave you feeling excited about them all over again. Remember, if you're not enthusiastic about a goal, it might not be the right time for that goal—and that's okay!
As the school year starts, my own schedule gets busier with various activities. This uptick in events actually helps me integrate my Healthi goals more effectively. For instance, a busier week means I have set workout times and specific exercises planned for certain days. I also schedule dedicated times for cooking, meal prepping, grocery shopping, and outdoor activities. Review your schedule for the season and incorporate your healthy habits now so you know exactly what you’re doing and when.
As pumpkin season approaches, I get excited about all the delicious and nutritious fall produce that comes with it. I’m talking about squashes, corn, potatoes, apples, and so much more! This is my favorite time to savor the warming flavors of fall and experiment with nourishing recipes. I love trying out new dishes to make the most of the season’s offerings.
As the days get shorter, I often find it harder to stay motivated. That’s why it’s crucial to leverage the high motivation of back-to-school season to build consistency in your healthy habits now. By establishing a strong routine now, you'll be well-prepared to maintain your goals even as the days grow darker and motivation wanes. Starting now will make it feel natural to keep up with your habits come November.
