Holding Grief and Joy at the Same Time

Grief doesn't follow a straight line. Some moments you're crying, and the next you're laughing. You might feel sadness, anger, frustration, gratitude, and even joy all in the same day. And that doesn't mean you're grieving wrong. ❤️

In this deeply personal episode of Mindful Moments, Coach Delicia opens up about the recent loss of her grandmother, a woman who was more like a mother and best friend to her. As she navigates grief while also experiencing the joy of watching her baby grow, Delicia shares the powerful reminder that two seemingly opposite emotions can exist at the same time.

She talks honestly about the impact grief has had on her sleep, appetite, energy, focus, and mental health, and why asking for help is never something to be ashamed of. From drinking enough water and getting outside to taking a shower, resting, reaching out to loved ones, and giving yourself permission to drop the "extra" things, Delicia shares the small ways she's learning to care for herself during a difficult season.

Most importantly, this episode is a reminder that taking care of yourself during grief isn't selfish, and feeling joy doesn't mean you're disloyal to your pain. If you're navigating loss, stress, or a major life transition, give yourself permission to feel whatever comes up. You don't have to choose between grief and joy. Sometimes, you can hold both.

And maybe today, take a moment to hug someone you love a little tighter and tell them what they mean to you. You never know how much that moment might come to mean. 💛
